Policies

We collect almost nothing.

This site has no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers of any kind. Nobody is watching you browse it, and we could not tell you how many people read this page.

If you buy something

Payment is handled entirely by Square, who also run the till in the shop. You leave this site to pay, and your card details never touch it — we never see or store a card number.

Square passes us what we need to hand over your order: your name, your email address, what you bought and what you paid. That sits in our Square account alongside the shop’s other sales, for as long as the law requires us to keep business records.

What stays on your device

Your basket is kept in your own browser, not on our server. We cannot see it, it never leaves your device until you check out, and clearing your browser data clears it. The only cookie this site sets is for staff signing in to the stock admin — there is no cookie for visitors, and so no cookie banner to dismiss.

Who else is involved

• Square — payments, the till, and the product list this site reads.
• Vercel — hosts the site. Like any web host they keep short-lived server logs, which include IP addresses.
• Google Workspace — our email. If you write to us, your message lives there.
• Discord — the community server is theirs, not ours, and their terms apply once you join. We do not link your Discord account to anything you buy.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing. There is no mailing list. If we ever start one it will be because you asked to be on it.

Asking us what we hold

Email sales@northstarhobby.com and we will tell you what is against your name, or delete it. The one thing we cannot delete is a completed sale — those are business records and we are required to keep them.

Children

This is an all-ages shop, but the website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Discord requires members to be at least 13, which is Discord’s rule and we enforce it — see the code of conduct.
